Default What Shot?

I am going on a Pheasant/Quail hunt this weekend and have never been before. Any suggestions of what to shoot? It's gotta be a 2 3/4 in load....What you guys think?

Non-toxic shot? Gauge? Wild or pen-raised pheasants?

It will be a mixture of Pheasant, Quail, and Chukar. It's on a game bird preserve. And with a 12 gauge...Thanks guys

I shoot a .20 guage O/U and for pheasants I'll load 3" 6's. For quail I'll shoot 2 3/4 " 8's Improved cyl.

Pen raised pheasants aren't that hard to kill. If I were shooting a mixed bag like that, I'd carry some good 7 1/2 loads.

6 or 7 1/2 should be about right. 2 3/4" shells would prolly do. 7 1/2 is just right for quail/chukar and 6 is just right for pheasants, so take your pick.

I like using a # 6 shot for pheasants and chucker but, it is a little heavey on the quail..
