Default Second week trip-Chasing roosters

Decided to go back again this week as Mon thru Wed are my days off from work. Had great weather this time around but the birds were a little more educated. Wiley worked well and flushed alot of birds. Just had a blast watching him work and just enjoying sights and sounds of the pheasant fields.

Walking back to the truck after I'd filled out...Wiley flushed a bird...

End of trip pic...

nice pictures.
our pheasant hunting is just awful here in pa. and deer hunting is getting just as bad.
i got 5 pheasants out of 15 that were stocked out of about 50/70 hunters for 3 days hunting.
i have good hunting lab as your springer is but its my shooting that was reason.

i had people try to chase us out by saying bb were close to them.

no one even shot in their direction..
hunting in pa. has to be worst that i have ever seen in 43 years .

thanks for pictures..

Looks like some fine work to me,,Way to go, here we do not have many places to hunt wild pheasants as we do not have very many. Most pheasants in this area you have to find a bird farm or raise them yourself.

Spoulman, how can bird hunting be so bad? It is the has been great hunting grouse up here. The best it has been for about 4 or 5 years.. Your weather maybe somewhat warmer but that is about it I think..

phil, grouse is only bright spot in hunting in pa.BUT hunting pressure on those birds is getting to much.
i never saw so many dogs hunting grouse in my life but grouse numbers are not plentiful here but better than 5 yrs ago.

i was at our SGL252 land.this goes for 15 miles or more.
it has best habitat, feed all over for deer/grouse/pheasants..
they do nice job growing stuff.
you dont see anything alive there.
no deer, grouse, very few squirreals, few rabbits, few pheasant,no turkeys.

why, its HUNTING PRESSURE.. hunters will hunt until they clean a place out.
i am very unhappy with hunting in pa. we used to be great, grouse all over, pheasants, squirreals as big as cats, rabbits big and lots of them, big turkeys, lots of deer...

now, you see OWLS,HAWKS,EAGLES,BOBCATS, COUGARS,COYOTES, FOX,FISCHERS all sitting there looking hungry................
