Lack of birds?

So just wondering what happened to everyone. There seems to be no recent postings of birds in the contest. Ive been way to busy to go after any birds lately, just wondering what everyones elses excuse is[&:]

And a cold snap has driven the doves around here south. Pheasant season starts Nov. 3!!!!!!

I don"™t like to eat dove and all of the other seasons around here start next month.

I did get a new dog this weekend though! This will be his first season.

It's been very sporadic reports down here in TX. We had an awesome opening weekend in NE TX but very few mature birds were harvested. In OKC last weekend and saw a few birds on the way home. Two weeks ago in KS didn't see a thing other than half a dozen blue wing teal. Doves have just been off this season. Seeing a lot more in town now....Saw 50 in a hayfield behind a church. Thinking if they keep hanging around, I can get my pup out to flush them just for his benefit.
