Default new guy

hey there, i went with a few buddies on some land he owns to do some dove hunting, and the sound of the guns and waiting for dove to come flying through was exciting and now next week when i get paid im going to get a license and do some hunting, my questions are
1. for a guy starting out whats a good, quality, inexpensive gun for dove, quail, etc.
2. where can i go to find tips and things of that sort on hunting in general.

thanks guys

i know exactly what you are talking about (the excitement)!!

i have only been dove hunting twice, with a cousin and then after i bought my shotgun... i got a NEW Remington 870 express for 239.99 so used should be even less. they are very reliable EXCEPT for winchester shotshells, (doesnt extract correctly...)some people dont like pump action but it is fine if you dont have a ton of birds flyin.

i used a mod choke with 7&1/2 shot shells. i hit 3 of the 4 i saw on my first time..

and i would say that this forum is very good for tips and also google is a great tool for general information.

hope that helps.

you actually helped me alot i was actually looking in to a Wingmaster, i also was looking in to pump action but the way dove been flyin round here i dont think the pump will be much of a problem.
if anyone else has other suggestions PLEASE tell me.

oh ya was also gonna usa IC choke since that works well with doves and quail etc.

save some money and skip the wingmaster. they are nicer but as a go to gun for general hunting just the 870 express will do
