must be a good shot to take a grouse with a 410. I use a 20ga, but there is lots of thick cover in Maine.

I use a 28 gauge O/U bottom is choked IC and the top is Light Mod. It works really well in all types of cover.

I use a B. Rizzini english stocked 20 gauge in the early season, and a Ruger Red Label english stocked 12 gauge w/26" barrels in the late season. Both are wonderful guns to shoot & carry. I normally shoot skeet or cylinder in the bottom/first barrel and IC or LM in the top/second barrel.

The only shotgun I used to have was an 870 with a full choke. That is the gun I leared to hit moving targets with and it is still the one I am most accurate with. It may seem like overkill to a lot of folks, but I hunted in some really nasty stuff in northern Wis.

Mossy 500 witha "modifed" choke. But, I want to find a old beater 20 gauge and chop the barrel down to about 22-24 inches. My 30 inch tube on the Mossy is a pain in the thick bush.
