Default What do you consider heavy for upland gun

Buying a new gun for pheasant. Have had a Benelli Nova and currently a Stevens 411. Both seemed heavy to me on an all day hunt. So, what is heavy or light to you? I'd like to get into the 6.5-7.0lb range.

I have a Stoeger Model 2000. I don't mind the weight one bit and can carry it all day.I wouldn't get a gun over 8 pounds.I think mine's 7.

What is your budget and are you talking just a bird gun with the ocassional few rounds of skeet to keep in form or are you including waterfowl?
If you will include waterfowl I'd go no lower than 7 lbs in a 12 and 6 1/2 in a 20. One of the best deals for the money out there right now is the Franchi Renaisance O/U's. Well made and lightweight field guns and most for you $ right now IMHO.

I shoot nothing but 20 gauges and they all weigh about 7 pounds. Let me give you s tip on weight, light is nice to carry, but they do nothing to reduce the recoil. Which the light advoctes won't tell you misery loves comapny.

Beretta makes light guns. Give them a look.
