Just returned from North East KS and, South East KS. Quail were down despite the report issued by the KDFW. Hunted 2 days in Marysville area then moved to Emporia. Dry in both areas. Birds were few and far between. Only moved 1 or 2 coveys each day on public grounds. Those hunting private grounds did not fair much better.
I was planning on going to Marshall and Washington in late Dec. Is Marysville in or near Marshall? According to the bird counts, quail are "suppose" to up in the eastern part of the state. How many days did you hunt and how was the weather conditions when you were their? Did you here of anyone having good luck in other areas? Sorrry, for all the questions, but you kind of busted my bubble a little.
i jus hunted today up in Marshall on some big ole WIHA's. only saw 1 pheastant at the end of the day flying over to non huntable land. however not a complete waste for both me and my father each got a rabbit. saw 6 does and a buck up there though
