about time to quail hunt

Quail season is almost on us. I can't wait I have a big covey that has been on the fence row of my neighbors wheat field about 200 yds from a pond. The covey is round about 25 to 30 birds. I jumped them when dove hunting and a couple of times since. Man do they taste good

ended up with 5 the first day. There ended up being 2 coveys. I could have definitely used a dog but I seem to be a magnet for walking them up
