Default A Few Grouse For The Pot...

I headed to my hometown in NE Minnesota on Monday morning for some grouse hunting and deer scouting. Wiley and I hunted for part of Monday and saw lots of grouse. He was flushing them in the thick stuff and I wasn't hitting many!! We went to plan B with him healing beside me until he'd pick up scent. Then we were insync. Just had a blast and he was a treat to watch. We saw a fisher at close range, two pine martens, a black timber wolf, and quite a few deer. Here are two pix from our trip...

The grouse hunting has just been fantastic. I've had well over 30 flushes the last two outings, now if I could just hit the darn things. Still working with the pup, but she's getting the hang of it.

I'll be out there day break tomorrow. Hopefully the winds lay down a bit.

Congrats on the ruffies.
