Default SC Wild Quail

It sure is nice to ride down the dirt roads and see a couple of quail get up.
I have been on the front porch at night listening to the quail call.
I have not seen any young birds yet.

Have you seen any young quail yet ? Up here I happened to see
a mother grouse with 5 chicks with her yesterday. Also I tried to
purchase a few quail for dog training and no one has them up here
this year. They said they have been to hard to keep due to our
climate here. So I went ahead and purchased a couple dozen
pheasants for training later in the early fall. Anyways good luck
with the quail down there.

The weather coled down over the weekend so i decided to run the courses with my all-age dogs. Found a covey of young birds about 5-7 weeks old they could not fly very well so i left them alone. also found some singles and a couple of pairs.

I am glad to here that Dale and I hope your hunting season
is a good one. Here it has been rain, rain, rain, but the early
part of spring was good for them so we are hoping for a good
one too.
