grouse after a night of rain?
is there anything diffrent to do grouse hunting without a dog afte ra night of constant rain? its supposta rain all night and clear tomarow morn..and my dad wants to grouse hunt...just looking for some advice..or are we wasting time or what?

I don't think your wasting your time you should hunt near food sources the grouse should be pretty hungry after a night of cold rain.Good luck- Patton

I'm biased.;-) Never a waste of time when your going grouse hunting.While its raining and even afterwards,you may find some birds still in the pine trees,some may even be still roosting on the ground under some of the smaller,but thicker pines.Or you could wait till the rain stops then go after them after they have come out to dry off. Thats what we did Sat and had a great day.Was still kinda wet going threw the cover but the birds were out.Take care Jackson..

Finding Grouse In The Rain
The Upland Hunter just rolled out a really good article on where to find grouse when its raining quite. They hit topics like hitting the thick areas with coniferous trees, staying ready since the grouse are so spooky & hard to hear, etc.
