Default Remington 1100 not ejecting shells

I have an 1100 that will not eject low brass shells, I was told to drill out the gas port and this will meke the shell eject. Does anyone have and idea of how big the hole should be or something else to do that will help me out with this?

Before I did that, I'd replace the O-ring and clean the gun. Use a light coating of Breakfree CLP on the gas tube. Avoid Federal shells as the powder residue will quickly turn an 1100 into a single shot, especially if you have a lot of oil on the gas tube.

There are a lot of auto that will not eject low brass or light loads. You need certain amount of gas pressure to get the ejection system to work. How often do you clean those little gas holes in your barrel?
Have you tried going shells like Remington Gun Club that a 1200 FPS rating. If you are using those silver based winchesters its the shells hardly nobody can get them eject, no matter what the gun make. A lot of your cheaper shells like Estate and others have ejection problems also.
Above allDON'T drill out those gas holes, your problem is else where.

I agree. I have a Rem 1100, and a good cleaning is all it takes to fix the ejection problem. After it happened a couple times I started being more vigilant about cleaning my gun after using it and I havent had a problem since.

Another thing , clean the gas port .
Sometimes it will plug with crud .
I use a tooth pick

On the Mag tube a little lube goes a long ways.
