Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default First time.......success!

I've tried the last 3 years to get drawn for a MN turkey permit. Finally I got one! Never hunted turkeys before. My 7 year old son and I set-up our Double Bull BS-5 ground blind on the edge of one of our food plots. We set out two hen decoys and waited until legal shooting time. About 15 minutes after sunrise I made 2 sequences with a box call and another sequence with a slate. (I bought and opened them the night before) About 6 minutes after that sequence my son hits me and says..."Look....its a tall Pheasant"!! I smiled and took a good look and I thought it was a hen about 40 yards out. I was filming with my video cam. It started moving towards the decoys......about 33 yards away.......and it puffed up! I put him down quick after seeing that strut! Lots of fun for me and my son!

Here's a couple pics
