dhf....being 18 i can tell you what it takes.....get em started young...i was fishing in diapers....4 or 5 i was walking in the woods with dad..learning about deer and turkey sign...and shooting a bb gun....6 i was tagging along watchin dad shoot squirrels and groundhogs...then running coondogs all night long....12 i got to go on my first hunt where i could carry a gun...turned 16 and hunted and fished way more then ever being i could drive...and hunt alone.....still love hunting and fishing with dad....18 now....glad i have the lifestyle i do....wouldnt trade it for anything...wish me and dads schedules would meet up more....but its life....we both work....i am about to gradumate hiskool...and just found out on our turkey opener next week i will be flying solo.....miss hunting with dad......but all 3 of my turkeys i took alone...dad taught me everything he knew about hunting...fishing....the outdoors...and life PERIOD....get em started young....keep them interested...warm, dry and comfy....and dont let outings last longer then they want them too....dad never made me go....never made me sit there hours on end cold wet hungry and bored....now that im older i have more patience then him......and hes usually the one getting up and moving around....always digging for food ect lol.....good luck
