Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default NJ opening day tomorrow - wish me luck

Heard four gobblers last week while scouting my favorite NJ turkey spot. Hope I can get one tomorrow morning. Fortunately for me, I met somebody on the board from PA (their season opens after NJ) and this person is coming out with me to help with the calling. He also helped me scout and pointed out the finer points only an experienced hunter would know. It has already been fun while scouting and nothing can compare to being out in the woods. I am thankful that I discovered this sport as it is relaxing and a welcome change of pace from the concrete jungle of NJ. I'll be thinking of my neighbors and friends who work in NYC tomorrow. I'll let them visit museums and go to the opera to get 'cultured'. I'll be getting cultured out in the woods and doing one of the few things in life I really enjoy. Wish me luck!

So how'd you do?

My opening day stunk....Guys in both my intended spots, and someone cut me off on a bird mid morning.

Im out there with a bow so its hard..but I agree that its alot of FUN!

I called in a silent tom this morning but I clanked my release aid on my cable guard and scared the bugger away. Saw 4 deer and thats about it....changed spots and sat till 11:45. Nothing else the rest of the day.

Oh well tomorrow morning maybe.

What turkey zone are you hunting here in NJ?
Good luck and have fun!---Matt
