Default got my first bird!!

i am so pumped.yesterday morning i got my first bird ever.what an experience.this was only my second turkey hunt ever and i had the experience of calling him in and everything.it was great,i am now hooked.ive killed several deer but this has beat them all.anyways it was about 8:30 and nothing was goin on so i decided to try some soft clucks on my call.well about 5 minutes later he came off the hill with his head up looking for the hen(he came in silent never heard him gobble once on his way in)i was sitting the outhouse blind by ameristep and he came in just a bit out of range and went behind me.he finally gobbled twice about 10 yards behind me.i again made a few soft clucks and about within a couple minutes he strutted around to the sound of me.i again made a few soft clucks and he gave me an awesome shot at 16 yards!!he weighed 22 pds. and had an 10.5 inch beard and one spur was 1 1/4 inch and the other was 1 3/8 inch.it was great and i am now a hooked turkey hunter.i have pics with my digital cam but cant get them to post.

Congrats on your bird but, be forewarned it is truely addictive. I thought that duck hunting was that way. I build my own boats and decoys but, I've spent far more money, time and effort on the thrill of turkey hunting. With no end in site. And I don't want it to stop. Just love the stuff. I'm even restructoring my work for next year so I can hunt longer.

Congrats again and welcome to the thrill.
