Pat,John Houston and I went in the rain this morning. Pat set up a blind in a spot we had bumped a bird Mon. and I later got a shot at another that came in from about 500yds,near miss (I'm blameing it on a cracked arrow how else can you miss at 18yds) the arrow really was cracked at the nock,it had been checked before placing in quiver, looked OK ???. John and I went after the bird that I trimmed some back feathers off of Mon. hopeing to meet him a little nearer his roost. John and I sat in the blind, raining till about 9am then we gave it another hour. When we got to the truck the Elybird was in the passenger seat all warm and cozy asleep with a bird in the bag,and had been there since a little after 7am. Maybe it'll be my turn tomorrow. All in all it's been great hunting witnessed a great show Mon. a hen with the Looongbeard I missed went crazy chasing a hen that had been hanging around our setup for about 2hrs. The tom just stood there with an I'll take the winner look, until he realized one of the decoys was a jake. Then he got that I'm gonna whip me some punk jake butt, that is until I shaved a few of his raised hackle feathers.
