Turkey hunting in the morning is great because you get all of the action with the gobblling and flying down and such.. but there is nothing like turkey hunting in the afternoon. I love it! Ive had much more great afternoon hunts than I have had morning hunts but thats just my opinion.

Mornings are the best down in Lafayette Co. Fl. Down here birds wont say anything in the afternoon matter a fact I have never heard a bird gobble after 9:00 am. I love the morning because thats the onl time they gobble. I would like the afternoon too if I could find the birds. I hunt them like the old timers in the afternoon, find a spot with ots of sign and sit there and call every 20-30 mins. It works just not as fun as them gobblin. Thats my first bird of the year!http://huntchristiancreek.com///Ct.jpg

Turkey Hunting in the afternoon is some good action. This is when the hens normally leave the gobblers to go lay there eggs. THe tom's now noticing this become love sick andd man oh man when you strike one up they come running in like nothing you've ever seen. I have taken my best birds in the afternoon including a double bearded turkey.

morning is by far the best, but if you're patient and dont snooze in the afternoon like i've done before, you have a good chance at a bird.

As long as it doesnt get to hot hot the afternoons can offer some great hunting. Still there is nothing like the excitment of the morning, even if you dont get a bird it is just worth being out there to witness.
