Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

For your gun you should try a few different sizes of shot and see what your gun patterns with best. But something in a heavy load, 3 inch magnum of your gun will shoot it, and try #4,#5, and #6. Any of these shot sizes should work for you, but use the one your gun likes the best.

For an easy to use call for beginners, I d try a simple push button call, and a easy to blow double reed mouth call if you can use one. You may also want a locator call like a barred owl call to locate your bird on the roost. Good luck welcome to the addiction!

I posted this accidentally to this question, but the procedure is the same. You will get more answers through a search than by the limited number of responses to this one post.

Look up in the uppper right corner of this page in the links and click on "search". Put in "new to turkey hunting" (in quotes) or 'chokes' (not in quotes) and you will find links to all kinds of muses and rememberances handed down by these sages over the eons.

Hope you have lots of time for reading,... there is plenty of it![]
