Default Treestand hunting Turks

Is it true that turkeys will pick you out quick if you are in a treestand? I haven't had any experience with this, and was wondering if I should get in a stand to try bowhunting turkeys this spring?? Thanks

Turkeys expect trouble from above. While occasionally I've been able to successfully hide from toms during bow season in a tree with good cover, I doubt I'd been able to move and fool them. If you had an enclosed blind so they couldn't see you move, you might be able to pull it off, otherwise, uh,uh.

Met a guy in TN when I hunted on that farm. He only hunts a tree stand and has been successful at it the last 3 years in Spring.

But as all the others have said.......Movement will bust ya.

Now his blind is a permanent blind - just a platform.

Well I know minumal movement is key, but I have just always heard that turkeys will pick you out quick in trees, and I didn't know if there was any truth behind this rumor or not. I do have an outhouse blind and a hayhouse blind, both of which are more so for gun hunting, But I can probably manage in the outhouse blind. I am not sure about the hayhouse though? Do you think I could cut out a small window to shoot out of in that blind material, say 4" X 12" ? I don't know if it would just rip to easy or get all frayed if I did?
