Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default which state?

If you could live in any state you wanted, with your decision being based entirely on your hunting, which state would you live in and why?

I would pick Illinois, mainly from a deer hunting standpoint and the many Monsters taken in that state. But I do like it here in NY with the seasonal changes, spring and Fall being my two favorites. I don't particulary like it hot all the time, that would drive me nuts!!
I also don't want to live anywhere you'd have to put up with Mother Nature at her worst!! Such as floods, mud slides, forest fires, Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Tornados, etc!!!

South Dakota for me.Great turkey hunting plus the best Pheasant hunting in the world! Duck and Goose hunting is top rate. Some monster size whitetails and mule deer along with antelope.Excellant prarie dog too.

Missouri

Big bucks and HUGE turkeys. The easterns in PA rarely get near 25 lbs. I understand that Missouri toms routinely reach 25-27 lbs.

I'm not a fan of plains hunting, and MO offers just enough woods to meet my needs, with plenty of feed and open space. Also, hunting pressure there is low compared to PA.

Mississipi can be pretty hard to beat. Lots of game, looonng seasons, racks are improving, turkeys in every corner, geese becomming a nuisance... Heck, even if nothing is moving, the skeeters are big enough to take pot shots at.

Now this is the State of Confusion, too many excellent states out there. They all have Pro and Cons! I have been graced with being able to hunt a few of them. That is a tough question to answer at this time though.

Alabama...you can shoot a lot of deer down there.
I'd like to try out west someday too.
