Turkeys have incredible eyesight. Camoflage is very necessary. They have excellent hearing also. There is so much to learn about turkey hunting. Try looking for a book at a store near you.

Kudo's to the facts posted ealier. Get into the woods before the season and find the birds. Being able to pattern the turkey can be one of the best learning experiences I have had in the 2 years I have been turkey hunting. Expect the unexpected, even though they do have daily patterns, those patterns can be broken at any time. Also make sure you know the capabilities of the shotgun you're using, having confidence in the firearm makes you more confident when that time comes to take your first bird.
