I hunted 2 seasons in the early 90's and never saw a bird. Took the sport back up in 2003 and killed a 20lb gobbler. took a hen a couple of weeks ago. so my answer is 2.
I took one my first year beginners luck I guess. Years since has been hit or miss but the kill isn't the reason I turkey hunt. Me and my buddy had 5 long beards in front of us this year at 20 yards and neither of us would shoot because we were arguing over who was gonna shoot first. I told him to shoot he said no you shoot. In the end we both laid our guns down and watched em strut, spit and drum. Hunts like those are what it is all about!!!!!!!
Dang Ma, I really don't know for sure.I have 4 photo albums full of dead birds,00's,90's,80's and 70's.I took one my first year and have been pretty lucky ever since.
I've been hunting for 4 years and have taken eight birds , all longbeards . Thats not saying I'm good at it just have a lot of birds around the house .
Ma, I harvested my first bird the second season I hunted.I believe I started in 79 and its been nothin but memories ever since! As to the # of birds I've been fortunate to harvest Its a guess!I can remember the ones that got away a little easier!Heres a few pics of the past!!! http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrow...older_id=41850

I have taken 11 birds in 4 seasons. Have a couple of great places to hunt. Got a bird my first season---just happened to be in the right place at the right time. But that seems to be how it always goes. Love this sport.
