RE: I Wonder why NC Doesn't Have a Fall Turkey Season ?
We do in a few countys that have a large enough turkey population to support a fall season,with plans to open other areas when they reach a desired population.The areas that are now open to fall hunting were the first areas to get birds in the restocking program (late 80's I think) Many areas were not stocked until the late 90's these new populations are booming in some areas,slowly growing in others. We'll get there it just takes time, Check out the NCWRC for info on restocking turkeys in NC.Try to find someone to hunt with in an area that has a fall season.Hunting with new friends can be rewarding.
