Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Bucks county... near Philly correct? If you can't find 'em nearby, I'd run over to Lancaster or York counties. I can't say exactly where to hunt there, in that PA in is a VERY heavily hunted state. I spend more time way north of you, only because I live north. A close friend of mine travels through the counties near you and always gives me turkey reports in abundance. I don't think you'll have trouble locating a good ridge within 30 minutes of where you are for some turkey action. As far as hunting them "up here"... where did you hunt them prior? Not the east coast? A mature north eastern in PA can be quite a challenge. The accepted fall hunt in PA is that of breaking up the flock and calling them back to you. There have been occassions when I've called a young gobbler off the roost in the fall, and /or the younger hens, but that's not the norm. I prefer to hunt them with Spring techniques, calling to them at daybreak, challenging a lead bird, but rifles are allowed in PA's fall season. As a result, you'll encounter a number of hunters glassing fields that turkeys are known to frequent and then hear the report of a centerfire rifle sound off. Not my preferred way of doing things, but to each his own. I'd get some maps of your new range, scout often, and always ask for permission before you stroll in. Good luck!

Lancaster isn't worth it for turkeys. I'd go to a more rural area.

TBM I think you might be in for some culture shock with these Pa Gobblers!!!!!

You might want to keep in touch with those private land owners in Missouri!!!

If you werent across the state, id tell you to come on up her to the North Western part. We have lots of birds (but i can never seem to get one). But if you can find someplace down there where you can walk around all day, not see anyone, but see lots of birds, id hunt there. There are many methods that people use. 1 is breaking up the flocks, than callin them back in. Another is shootin the birds right off the roost. Another is callin. And last but not least drivin around till you see birds then getin outta your car an shootin em

You can't hunt turkey in the fall in York Co and others in WMU's 5a & 5b.
