I had back surgery in 1999 its not the best thing to have done.
My op was from s1 to l4 fusion I still have the screws and rods in.
The op was not painfull but my hip was the worst as thats where they took bone from for the bone graft.

Just take it easy for a few months and do plenty of walking.

Do what I do and use the pain as a measure of what you can and cant do.
I have not taken any pain killers since I was released from hospital.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.

I had back surgery in 88, It took awhile but I'm back to doing about whatever I want, maybe just a little differently than I used to, but I have no back or leg pain now, before surgery I could'nt do nothing, I could'nt sit, lay or sleep without constant pain. I hope you have a quick and complete recovery.

Had back surgery in 78. You can come back to almost where you were, but it takes time. You will be in my prayers.

Charlie I had a ruptured disk and some pinched nerves, I had lost all my reflexes in my right leg, about 3 months after surgery I regained my reflexes and over a period of about 3 years I continued to improve, the first year it was kind of touch and go with alot of visits back to the Dr. Doing good now.

I had the same thing. I had 3 pieces of the disk break off and hit the nerve. Kinda lost some use of my calf muscle which makes me limp a little. But so far I feel pretty good. Still have a limp but not as bad. Hopefully by next spring I can run those ridges and hollows again!!!!

Yeah Mr Longbeard just take care of yourself and do what the Drs. say and you should get along pretty good, I have a brother that did'nt quit the line of work he was in and he has had 2 surgeries and still hurts like the dickens. Him and I was in the same line of work, the Dr told me to find another job and I did but he has'nt and he still has alot of problems.
