Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default How many yards was he ?

Just wondering how far away your turkey was when you shot him this spring?

Mine was about 30-35 yards when I first shot at him.

My NH bird was about 20 to 25yds away and my VT gobbler was about 40+ when I first shot. The shot that folded him was about 30yds away and about 25yds off the ground flying

Mine and my son's was only ten feet from us,They were running into us so I told him we would see how close we could get them.
At ten feet I told him close enough,We had the guns up and ready already,And we got another double this year.
We were laughing so much after we took the birds.
Man what a good day that was.

My first bird this year was at 34 yards. He looked a lot farther but I was looking thru a small opening in a cedar tree when I shot. The second bird was 19 yards. I would prefer to have them around 35 to 40 myself. My gun patterns well at that range, a little too tight at 20.
