Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Frustrating Season...

It was an unusual, and in some ways, frustrating season. The weather was generally bad on the days I had to hunt in three states (MA, NY, NH). There was very little early morning gobbling on the mornings I hunted, and almost no mid- or late morning talking. I saw five or six jakes and two mature toms: none were talking and none came into my calls. I had four consecutive set-ups busted by other hunters, including the only one when a bird actually responded to my calls in late season. But I really enjoyed each hunt (even those that were busted, after I calmed down), which, of course, is the entire point. I'm glad to hear so many of you were successful. We'll get 'em next spring.

I feel your pain, too. Seemed like my season went that way, as well. Not much gobblin', frequent lousy weather, etc. One blessing though, was that I didn't get my setups busted by other hunters, as I hunted mostly private grounds. I hope that next year, the weather is better, the toms gobble all day long, and every bird weighs 40 lbs!!
