Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default RE: Last Day's in Missouri

horntagger, sorry that Tyler didn't get his bird.. I went out saturday with my 11 yr old daughter. We knew the vicinity the birds were roosting in and got situated just before 5 am. We heard 1 gobble across the cornfield from us and ten minutes later 1 gobbled behind us about 50 yds or less. We were sitting several feet in the trees and had woods between us and the bird behind us. I called softly to him and he was on his way down from the roost. I heard a awful racket, crashing in the tree directly above us and looked to see him scrambling to get away. He was landing right where we were sitting. I guess something just didn't look right to him. If he had come down, it would have been on our heards. Nothing else came in, so we switched to a traveling location of the birds and saw nothing there either. We called it a day and went back to the lodge for a nap. I skipped sunday hunting due to bad news of one of our guides being in a car crash. It was a head on collision at 55 mph. He and his wife were cut from the vehicle and Life Flighted to the hospital. Latest news today is that he is doing okay, but will need reconstructive surgery on his knee and leg. His wife had minimal injuries. This all happened just 1 day after he left Missouri to go home to Mich.

Live each day to the fullest and be thankful for what you have, for you know not what tomorrow holds!!!!!
