Set up about 100 yards from a roosted gobbler this morning. He flew down and I had him coming in. At about 5:20 I see him @60 yards out, but it's still fairly dark yet and I know he's coming. Gun up, safety off, bird at 25 yards but can't get a clear shot. I can see everything except his head and neck as he is behind a tree. All he needs to do is take one more step for me, but no. He senses something is up, turns, and bolts back into the woods and eventually flies off.
Now, here's my question... What are the odds that he will roost there again tonight? He has roosted there for the last 4 mornings.
Chances might not be as high tonight for him to roost tehre , but definatley in a day or two he will be bac , i mean he has survived there for atleast a year or two , so he will feel safe there no matter what to some degree, i would stay in the area and hope to outsmart him at a later date...

He won't be far away (in my opinion). Try to figure out if there was something you may have done to spook him. This is what "they" mean when they talk about how sharp a wild turkey's senses are. Learn from your mistakes. Heaven knows we all make them ;0)
(It may have been another predator i.e. coyote or fox....grrrr! another hunter)
Tom, I've replayed this in my head a thousand times trying to figure out my mistake. To my knowledge I never moved a muscle, made a noise, etc... There may have been a glare from my gun barrel or something, I don't know??? Something made him nervous. Just not sure what???[:@]

Take a partner & double team him. Have your partner 30+ yards behind you do the calling. Use a blind or if unavailable shoot from a prone position.

I agree with BB!!Give him at least a day or 2 and I wouldn't set-up in exactly the same calling position as before! Also I would think about changing my calling method from possibly air to friction or vise-versa!A deke might benefit you here also!!
