Default How to revive my fan?

As most of you know from my post on Saturday....I shot my first turkey.

I would like to do a fan mount of some sort, but the fan just looks like crap. It was all wet and matted. How do I get it to look good again.....minus what I accidently shot up. What can I say it was my first turkey

Do I just dry it out and play with the feathers by hand to get them looking good again or what?

Thanks

Some light steam will really help a lot.

I have always let them dry good, cleaned them with paper towel and kinda brush them back into shape if needed, i also cure them with borax.

Try a hair dryer on those wet feathers.

Well the feathers are dry now, but they aren't pretty like they should be. I guess I will just try a moist papertowel and try to make them look good again.

IL,

Run the entire fan and wings over the steam from a tea kettle. The steam will help the feathers regain their pliability.

PS> This trick is also great if you use feathers on your hunting shafts...
