Opening Day Tomorrow!

I'm tired of warming this bench. Tomorrow, I'm in the game! Supposed to be windy and I know I'll face the usual public land blues, but at least I'll be in the woods.

Nice to be in the woods, but it just wasnt my day. Didnt hear a single gobble. I cant blame the public land either, unbelievably, I didnt even run into anybody else. Found some sign, but nobody home. The wind didn't pick up until around 9 or so, so I guess it was just one of those days. Still not decided on whether I should hunt or work tomorrow. It may be best to save my vacation days for later in the season, or for the private land in CT I have permission to hunt. That season opens next week...

Day 2 and still Nada. I hear people are scoring in RI, but I haven't heard any shots... Spooked one today on about my 50th setup. Heard it beating wings as soon as I started down the trail, just caught a glimpse of it taking off, not sure if it was a hen or a Tom. Season's still young....
