Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Best of luck to you and your son out there. I just got back from hunting in the prarie units in SD.and the hunting was the toughest I've seen in the 6 years I've been out there. The bird numbers were way down and the toms just would not respond to the calls.Looks like they had a good hatch last year though as we saw lots of jakes and hens.

I just got back from Wyoming. The toms were not coming to the calls but we could keep them gobbling enough to sneak up for a shot. Our group went 5 out of 6.
Where are you hunting in Wy?
Good luck to you and your son.

Good luck, too. I agree with paintbrush gobblers were tough in SD this year--would not respond to calling earlier this season. Maybe things will have changed by now. (But I did see a lot of birds in the area I hunted, though probably not as many as last year, so they probably are down some, too.) Still, there's birds out there, so good luck!!
