Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default TruGlow/Hi Viz Sights Look Nice But.......

They Look Cool At End Of Barrel, But Friend Tried One Out Missed A Turkey, And He Really Never Misses Unless To Far, He SHot At Some Toms That Were Running Away From Him, Hit His Back..Later He Was Wondering...So He And A Friend (Had A New Sight New)(Ring Or Fire)
He Targeted And He Missed Paper At 30 Yards. (Granted He Misses Alot)
So Then They Toke Of Sights And Used Beads On Barrel And It Was In The Head/Neack Area 50 Yards. One Gun Was A Remington 870 And A Mossberg 835.

What Problem Was.....

Problem Was That The Sights Were Higher Then The Bead And Therfore Your Gun Barrell Is Basically Droped So At 30 Yards Missing A Huge Paper Turkey, Is About 1 1/2 FT Drop At 30 Yards...
This Was Same On Both Guns.
But Because The Sights Were Higher Its A Miss, And Thos Sights Are Un Adjustable.

Don't you think the time to test your sights is BEFORE you shoot at a live bird?

I found that same problem with one of my guns. Like RI said, sight it in BEFORE shooting at turkeys.

I have a set of truglo sights and they are alright but I wouldn't recomend them to anyone. I'm using them this year because I sighted in with them.

You get what you pay for...

If you're only going to pay $5-20 for some sights, don't expect them to be adjustable...

The more costly sights from both Hi-viz & Tru-glo are adjustable for both elevation and drift...the magnum pro gobble sights (Tru-glo) will cost about $50.

With the advent of today's cheaper red-dots, it is true however, that you can purchase a cheap red dot (BSA comes to mind) and the mounting hardward for just about the same money...
