Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default How to simulate a gobbler call?

While hunting last week, there was a situation where a gobbler responded repeatably to my yelps. But when he came out in the field about 70 yards away, he had 6 hens with him. He quit responding to my cuts or yelps. And headed back in the woods with his hens. What is the best way to get him over to my decoys? Some said a gobbler call. Is shaking a box call better than a tube gobbler in makeing him mad enough to run the other male out?

Using a gobble call can be dangerous, even if you think no one else is around. If he has hens withs him, and they are talking, try to imitate them. If one of the hens thinks she's the boss, and you are mimicing her calls, she might get upset and come looking for the 'hen' that is sounding off, and drag the gobbler with her
