Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Went on a turkey hunt April 24

PA held a youth turkey hunt on April 24th. I have my junior license so, Pat_Ely decided to bring me turkey hunting up in Susquehanna county. We woke up around 4am maybe that morning, and were in the woods around 4:30am. The weather was a lot better than the previous days, no rain, a few clouds. A little later, we heard some gobbles, Pat called and the gobbler responded but nothing was happening. So we moved through some swamps, and spooked a few birds. We kept on moving, and set up near some young pines. Nothing. We walked around some woods for a while then, and busted maybe 2 birds, couldn't tell if they were hens or gobblers. Then we set up near a small opening in the woods, and waited to see if we would get lucky. Nothing happened. Not sure why the gobblers weren't cooperating, maybe they were henned up. Didn't get a bird, but it was still fun. Maybe I'll get back to the mountains in a couple of weeks for a shot at another bird

It's alway fun whether you get one or not. Just being in the woods is always a treat. Good luck the rest of the season.
