Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Idaho Success! At 730am

First Morning success, Thanks to Shed33 knowing where they were.

spurs are 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 beard is 9.5. His beard is pretty beat up, but mine would be too if I lived in the country where he did. There were 2 other gobblers with him and 2 hens. I shot him just as a wind storm was moving in. What made the hunt though was taking that bird with a new friend. Shed33 was nervous because I had gotten aweful quiet and wasn't saying anything, he thought that I wasn't having a good time. I finally after quite a few minutes was able to tell him that I was just speechless with everything that I had seen. I was in awl with my surroundings. What beautiful country there is there. I saw my first Elk up close and personal in the wild (now I understand what you all talk about) I saw White tails, Mule deer, Elk, Turkeys, live and all of the following animal tracks: Moose, Bobcat, Coyote, Wolf, Cougar, Bear.
I hope you all are having as GREAT a season as I am. Like I said in the TURKEY challenge, I hope you all have the oppurtunity of making a new friend and get to hunt with him or her, I know I have made some new friends for life on both of my hunts this year.

Those aren't specs..... they're turkey feather markings.[8D]

OK >>>> OK.... I know, bad play on words. I always wonder what you guys are doing behind that bird like that.[&:][8D]

It would be nice to know some dimensions on the bird.

NC hunter, No I didn't we couldn't get back into the bear area because of snow. But we did watch a real good looking clear cut that was full of elk white tails and mule deer all eating in harmony together, I had seen before where someone had said that they don't feed together, Well let me tell ya that clear cut was full of em all feeding together.
