Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default A weird day!

First day of the season here in Virginia. My 12 year old and I went out. Set up and called some, as we heard no gobbling. After about an hour, I heard something come running. I had my gun in my lap as I thought it was probably a deer. It's a good thing it was a hen as my gun was not in a good position. We went to another place and saw a lot of scratching as soon as we got out of the truck. After about 100 yards, we saw two hens and they saw us and ran. We also saw a bird feeding in a field when we went to the store. It looks like the birds are not in the mating mode but I know it's time. Last year at this time, we were hearing birds every day. Any thoughts? Don
