i went the evening to my uncles farm we always kill birds on this farm every spring ....well i opened the season on this farm and took a nice bird.......well went today took another one......he had 9 1/2 inch beard
inch spur 20 pounds.......we went a sat up where they feed at ,well nothing came thru.....so we got up and started to sneak thru the woods we hit a call nothing so we went down to a little bitty woods with a sage field on the front side and a wide open field on the back side...well there is a fence that runs thru the woods closer to the sage field.well we entered the woods...i looked on the back side of the woods and i see three hens...so we went back next to the sage field next to the woods and sat up... called a few times nothing...we just seen three hens but there could have been more..toms or hens...well i look down to the end of the sage field and i see my uncle walking down the sage field next to the woods...don't forget there is a fence that runs down the edge of the woods well i thought man he is going to scare some turkeys ....well all of a sudden there came a big ol tom running down the fence in the woods.....he ran wright on top of us........i was going to let my dad shoot sense i have already have got one.....well the turkey catches us off guard....we have just sat down the guns was still on the ground...my dad says there he is....i look up there he stood at 10 yards looking back at my uncle and he looked forward and seen us.....my dad grabs the ol mossberg 835....he bee
ds down on him....but the bird seen him....he went behind a tree going away from us...my dad could not see him so i told him he is leaving...shoot shoot i said my dad said the tree is in the way...well the turkey is leaving quick.....so i shot and downed him......the turkey got behind a tree and my dad could not shoot.....the turkey was leaving quick so i shot ...and busted him......my dad said there was no way he could have shot the bird with the brush and the tree blocking him... so my uncle said he was walking looking for a cow...and seen the big tom at the edge of the sage field... so he said he was walking toward the tom...the tom got in the woods and was running the fence ....we did not no that the turkey was at the end of the field.....the tom came running on us....he seen us when we seen him.....and i busted him.....
