Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Kicks choke: .665 or .655 for Rem 870?

Has anybody tried both of the constrictions that Kicks offers? I want to get a new one and I just found out they have two different tubes for Remington guns. If you haven't tried both then what works well for you? Thanks, Al

Big Al, I use a Kick's GT in .665 out of my Remington 870. I shoot Winchester HV 3" #5's through it. I've used this setup for quite awhile now. It patterns excellent out of my gun and will really put a thumpin' on an old gobbler!! You might want the .655 choke if you plan on shooting #6's, otherwise the .665 will do just fine.

I think it really depends on what size shot you want to shoot. I have the .655 for my benelli nova and it shoots 6 shot the best.

Thanks guys, I would prefer to shoot #5s, but I guess I will have to just try one and see what kind of results I get. I guess I can take it back and exchange it if I'm not satisfied with the first one.

Big Al C, I don't shoot a Kicks but I shoot a Ventilator .655 for lead shot and a Rhino .660 for Hevi-Shot, both in 5 shot. With that combo they both do a great job out of my 870.

Took me a while to get back to this thread. I got a .655 and tried it. IT IS GREAT! I tried #5s and #6s and the #5s actually patterned slightly better. I tried a bunch of tubes, but this one finally did the trick.
