Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Gobblin' in WA

Went out yesterday and saw 22 turkeys including one big tom and probably 2-3 jakes. Managed to get them all to gobble at me using a gobbler or a crow call. They look really henned up though so hopefully in 3 weeks all the ladies will be nesting and the boys lonely.

On a side note saw 2 guys on dirt bikes riding out with a dozen elk sheds strapped to their backs. So, don't forget to look around on the ground for sheds while you're pre-scouting for turkeys! I found a nice 5-pt shed the day before the season last year.

It's always so nice to go back to your hunting area and find birds there again. I had 4 different toms gobbling at me in different areas. Too bad all but 1 were Jakes but my main focus this year is helping a buddy get his first bird so a Jake is fine for that. Then I can go after the bigger boys later.

LOL! Yes, he's way hooked. You should read the story about the day he "became" a turkey hunter.

Thank you Pwer, man you have a great site!!!! Not only do you get to see some good photos of harvested animals but you get the hunting story along with it. Almost like reading back copies of field & stream in the summer. Yeah about everyone I know is guilty of that! Thank you again.

Glad you liked the site. I spent a fair bit of time getting it set up to share with people, especially the great people on this board. I like to think maybe when I grow up I might do some free lance writing but we'll see if I ever grow up!

LOL! I think they used to have elk there a couple hundred years ago. You might find one that is fossilized like that elk they found in a tar pit.
