Default where will they go

i hunt alot of cattle pasture next to a 150 acre lake. most of the birds will roost near the lake it seems. after they fly down, is the water the first thing they are going to go to? if so should i set up between them and the lake or should i set up to where they MIGHT go after they get done at the water?

Thanks for the help

Default RE: where will they go

You have a few options.

If you know the ara they roost - go roost those birds and pick an area they use for struttin' first thing in the morning. Usually they fly down and strut to gather their hens.

Or if the roost area is outa bounds pick an area they travel to and from.

Your best chance is to get first crack at them as they fly down.

Do a bit more scouting and over the course of a few days you should be able to develop a pattern.
My advice also - do not call - no matter how tempting it is!

Just watch, learn and listen and mark youtimes in a journal for reference.
