Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Camo question?

I know that blending into your surroundings is very important, so here is my question. My wife bought me a new Mossy Oak camo baseball style hat for my B-day, she did a good job, it was what I wanted but, is the logo on the front going to matter, also it has the words Mossy Oak in 1/2 inch or so letters in red across the front. Is this going to be a problem? Not sure if a tom will see it or not? Thanks for any advice.

Unless you move your head while a gobbler is looking at you, it shouldn't make much difference. Turkeys have great vision, but I've seen quite a few hunters make decent harvests with color logo caps on.

Not to worry SD, I was on 13 kills with that Mossy Oak hat last year. If they are close enough to see it, you shouldn't have a problem. Turkeys will always keep you guessing though. Sometimes it seems like you can't run 'em off and sometimes it seems like all you did was blink and they were gone!

Not as long the Red is bright over the Camo , inwhich I can't see. I would be more scared of other hunters seeing it. but then again if it is not real noticable do worry about it...BT

For safty reasons I would color the red with a black marker
So no other hunter would mistake you for a turkey.
good luck

Yes, like Loumagoo said, you shouldn't wear red while turkey hunting. Also, don't wear white or blue either as those 3 colors are some of the primary colors on a turkey. Some hunters (I use the term loosely) will shoot into a bush at movement or if they see the right color. Just be safe, go full camo head to toe.
