Default Active Turkey Shells

What happened to Active? They had a turkey load I used to like a lot (3" 2-1/4oz. nickle plated shell). did they shut down?

Last I heard the plant burned down and they went out of business. Not sure how much truth there is too this, just what I heard.

Too bad they went out of business,I thought they made a great turkey load as well as a shotgun slug.Ill be in trouble when my boxes of shells runs out.

They got bought out by Kent ammo company. The factory never burnt down they just sold the place to kent. I guess that Kent is a much bigger company and needed the space along with the shell manufacturing plant as well. Active is no longer in existance. I would start stock piling those 2 1/4oz loads up, because once there gone, there's no more!! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

A buddy of mine bought a box of those active shells(3in 2 1/4ounce load) and when he was patterning them you could actually see the shot going down range and when we would go down to check the target the pellets would be rolling around in the bottom of the box we were using as a target. When you put 2 1/4 ounces of shot in a 3in shell something has to give guess what that is POWDER. I'll pass on the active shells. I'll stick with a load that knocks there little d!@#'s in the dirt.
