Where I live there was one hanging around,
on May 18th I went out with a newbie to Turkey Hunting, We set up on the Edge of a field in some brush sorta,Then got out my LIL'Duece And started calling he gobbled, I kept up with him and he came out into other side of field, My Budd was so exited he was like me just a shaking,I luv that feeling, anyways, He stopped and was looking, I called he shut-up and got out my LIL Hart Breaker and started Putting WOW did he gobble, Then my budd got really exited, I explained to jim that when that turkey get near that lil rock he's close enough to shoot. (had a range finder) Then he said ok,I said wait till he puts head up then aim at head and let him have it, Then the tom started moving in and was walking right to the lil rock then stoped... I turned head very slow and said lil bit more. he was so exited he didnt say a word the all of a sudden PUT PUT PUT!! I went OH %#$ quietly then i slowly looked back there was to hens fighting 20 yards behind us! lol never saw us tho, Well i put call down and let the hens fight the yelped putted etc, the the tom got exited and came in to us fast and wouldnt stop, He got 20 yads away then stopped and looked at the hens cuz the stopped a sec, I threw my hand up cuz the white gobble kept picking, i trew hand up and his head went up i said SHOOT! he flipped safty then shot, He Got that turkey 2.
He lifted it up then did the crappie Flop lol then taged it, It was 25 pounds,
10.3/4 inch beard, 1/ 12 inch spurs he has the fan beard spurs mounted, I was proud that I called in that White Tom for a newbie first turkey. I was proud I called in that OL BOY and i was Very proud that he got that tom.
i killed a solid white gobbler....
