Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default guess what!?

well guys...i went hunting today...i hunted small game mainly in the morning and our group broke up at noon and everyone had things to do...except me....i was like ok ill go hunt turkeys all by my self...well i had all my stuff in my car but i stopped home just to say hi to mom..then i was on my way...i decided to go out to the state game lands to do a little more small game hunting then 2 or 3 i was going to pack it up and goto a spot i know the turkeys use once in a while closer to home....well i was pheasant hunting(small game anything i see in season id take for the freezer...) a stand of pines..i know birds like to hang out in there....well i was walking through and all the sudden i heard something take out...but from the tree tops...i look up and its a turkey!!! i pull up BAM! it kept cruising...then i seen a nice opening in the trees and when it got into it i fired again....it folded and hit the ground like a ton of bricks!! my second turkey!! my first fall turkey!!! not exzactly the most ethical way to get em but i did it....it was an exciting few seconds lol..my first shot was a 1 1/8th ounce 7.5 bird shot...it laughed at that...but my back up for them going away pheasants is number 4 steel 2 3/4 inch mags...its all i could find for a good back up shot and no stores will sell a 16 year old ammo...it would definently fold a pheasant cruising away...its not the biggest turkey...a nice little hen...maybe 10-12 lbs dressed....itll make good turkey soup for deer camp...and make me a fine set of wingbone calls i hope...i think i got all the bones i need...just thought id tell you guys my little story...
