could someone explain how to make a kee kee run or a kee kee sound on a slate call or suggest a site were I could find a sound byte of them. Any help would be great
a kee-kee sounds just like a whistle it' s usually three to four notes followed by a cluck.a kee-kee run is the same whistle like sounds followed by a series of yelps. If ya wanna make that call on a slate run your striker along the outside edge of the call.the rythem of kee-kees is usually pretty fast so ya wanna kinda run the notes together. The best advice I can give ya is when you scatter a fall family flock listen to the birds and try to duplicate what you hear.
You bet I am! Wwnt and did some scouting yesterday ran into two flocks of turkeys about 10 birds each the one flock took off so fast i didn' t even get a good look at them the other had two beards and the rest were hens. That got me hyped up for fall. Thanks for the help I try to find another flock and bust em up and listen to them!
Jager,NWTF' s website has a sound file of real wild birds. You may have to download a media player but its pretty simple and the sounds are authentic.Try here.... http://www.nwtf.org/special_events/t...e_kee_run.html

Look on JESSIES hunting page and under calls you' ll be able to hear a sample.
I like to use a lohman tube mouth call for the fall. This seems like the only time this call is effective for me. You can do a great kee kee run with this.
