Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

National Wild Turkey Federation Presents $250,000
Check To Preserve Hunting and Shooting Heritage.

Columbia, Mo.- Leadership can be defined many ways, but for the National Wild Turkey Federation, actions speak louder than words. During the recent OWAA Conference in Columbia, Mo. the NWTF once again stood out in front of the conservation world by contributing $250,000 to the Hunting & Shooting Sports Heritage Fund, the third installment of a historic one million dollar commitment.

The four-year $1 million donation is helping the Hunting & Shooting Sports Heritage Fund meet its mission to create a sustainable environment for the shooting sport in America. To achieve its goals, the Heritage Fund coordinates an aggressive legal response to politically motivated lawsuits and produces public awareness campaigns aimed at restoring the rightful and responsible image of firearms, the companies that make them and the sportsmen who use them.

"The firearms industry has always been a strong supporter of conservation. As a result of this support and the hard work of conservation organizations, wildlife populations are at an all time high. When our industry"s existence was threatened, the NWTF quickly stepped forward to support the Heritage Fund, demonstrating their commitment to the future of the hunting tradition and America"s firearm freedoms." said Doug Painter President of the Hunting & Shooting Sports Heritage Fund.

Recognizing the inseparable role that hunters and the firearms industry play in wildlife conservation, the NWTF challenged its 500,000 members and more than 2,000 state and local chapters to join the Heritage Fund"s efforts in defense of the hunting and shooting sports and they responded with the million-dollar commitment. Rob Keck CEO of the NWTF summed it up with this statement, "Many may ask, why would a conservation organization make this commitment? To us it"s simple, without firearms there would be no hunting, without hunting there would be no conservation and without conservation there would be no wildlife, in our case the wild turkey."

That' s Great News! Now if we could only get some individuals to support pro-gun and pro-hunting organizations instead of riding on the backs of the rest of us.
