Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

This past January I had 25 turkeys fly down out of a tree at 3pm. Surely a Bobcat put them up there but still very strange! Has anyone else experienced this?

I've seen birds spook and fly up. Hell, I've spooked em and made them fly up myself! Haha! I'm sure if they fled to the trees for safety, they would fly down when they felt safe. With that in mind I don't really find it strange.

I've seen turkeys fly up in trees many times when dogs come through. I've seen them in trees in the middle of the day for unknown reasons. I've seen them in trees eating acorns right off the branches in the middle of the day. It's not that uncommon for it to happen. Usually when they are in trees during the day, something spooked them.

Also...we walked the entire length of the field to change ground blind locations. They had to have seen us. An hour after being in the blind they flew down. Unexpectedly an exciting hunt.

Last spring I had a gobbler coming in hot. It took flight and landed in the tree right in front of me. Then a coyte should up smelled my decoys and left, a few minutes later the tom flew down and I rolled him up.
