Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Best mouth call for purrs and clucks

Does anyone have an opinion on the best mouth call cut for specifically purring and clucking close in. I find myself huffing loudly to get a purr, I use gargle and tongue method. Also if your call is bending on the lip of your pallet, shoul you cut it to fit flat against the surface of your pallet? Thanks for any help, I am new to this!

A Cutter or a V cut are a couple that can purr well. 2 -2 1/2 reed calls are the best for soft calling of any type. The idea is not to have to blow or huff hard to get a sound in which keeps the tone down in volume...

I personally like using double reeds, no cuts, for all of my calling. Straight reeds just work better for me.

stick with a straight double, clear soft calls with little air.
